The new LFR video is up! Defending April Reimer & Elisha Cuthbert as the Leafs stare down elimination.
MAKING HIGHLIGHTS HAPPEN
Last night I wrote about some of the things we do at the NHL Network, and everyone seemed to enjoy it. Glad to see!
As promised, I’m going to write about how we make highlight packs for hockey games. We’re going to look at two games from Monday night, specifically the Rangers-Leafs game, and the Flames-Avalanche game.
Finally getting back to making videos. Today’s topic: The NHL lockout is poop. http://bit.ly/ZiHl3R
KHL Highlights: Ovechkin’s sick dangle, Yakupov has 18 in 18, Kulemin scores, and more. http://theleafsnation.com/2012/11/29/khl-ovechkins-sick-dangle-yakupov-has-18-in-18-kulemin-scores-and-more
Apparently the Toronto Maple Leafs are worth $1 billion. So what's $1 billion, anyway?
As it turns out, Forbes Magazine is reporting the Toronto Maple Leafs are worth one billion dollars. That is several dollars.
So how much is a billion anyway? Well, using advanced technology such as my phone and Google, I figured out just that.
New Joining the Rush Video! @AOsadchenko and I go through the NHL’s top headlines… sort of.

Things around my neighbourhood that are better than the NHL lockout
This morning I asked the Twitterverse what I should write about. One beautiful Tweeter came up with the suggestion that I show things on the street that are better than the NHL lockout. Why not? I’ve already done stuff around my house that’s better than the lockout, so let’s take to the streets of Toronto (East Scarborough, specifically).
Can you imagine how much everyone would freak out if a team won a game that moved them into 1st place in the league and then they fired the coach? Well, that happened today in the KHL. No, really.
Watch until the very end of the Daily KHL Update for Lupul’s brutal OT giveaway.
Nail Yakupov: Coming Home is a documentary on Oilers 1st overall pick Nail Yakupov’s return “home” to Sarnia from his new home in Russia playing in the KHL.
Steve “Dangle” Glynn (me) and fellow Nations contributor Andrey Osadchenko drove to Sarnia to watch Yakupov in action and have two in-depth interviews with him. We also sat down and spoke to Yakupov’s good friend and former teammate Alex Galchenyuk, the Montreal Canadiens’ covetted 2012 3rd overall pick.
NHL vs. KHL: What’s the Difference?
As I’m sure you know from my flood of Tweets, Facebook posts, etc., I have started making KHL highlights in English for the KHL’s Official YouTube channel. In other news, I’ve also started writing for the English version of the KHL’s official website, KHL.ru.
I’ve written two posts for them so far, both talking about how certain players we know for their play in the NHL would do in the KHL. Some would do better obviously, but some would do worse, too.
Let me know what you think!
NHL vs. KHL: Part 2
Still need more proof the KHL and NHL are two totally different leagues?
The last time I wrote for KHL.ru, I spoke about Alex Ovechkin, Evgeni Malkin, and Steven Stamkos. I talked about how I thought their skills would transfer from the North American game in the NHL to the international ice surface in the KHL. The fact of the matter is however, that those players are so skilled, so special, and so astronomically talented, that they can be the best players on the ice in any league in the world. Some players aren’t so easy to assess.
This time I want to take a look at three very different players. Not everyone has the resume of a Malkin, Ovechkin, or a Stamkos, but that doesn’t mean they can’t be stars.
